Why shouldn't NCCA players be given a monthly stipend?
Each team that played in one of the 4 BCS title series games were paid around $15 million to their respective universities. I don't care who you are...that's big money.
You know how much the players earned... officially?...nada!
There is all of this hoopla about dirty agents and players taking illegal money and gifts but let's do the math.

- Big time, national powerhouse programs make literal fortunes off: tickets, corporate sponsorships, merchandise, television and bowl games.
- Coaches get paid millions in: salary, sneaker/equipment/jersey deals, tv shows and speaking fees.
- Television: makes zillions off of advertising related to these games.
- NFL and NBA get a de facto farm system.
- Players: get a sham education better known as 'maintaining eligibility' and their bodies hammered.
And the university paying a player in a revenue producing sport (mostly football and basketball) the astonishing sum of $1,000 per month would do what to the orbit of the earth?
Someone please help me understand!
