I love the WEC but a $45 ppv...not so much

First Comcast/Versus and Direct TV fought and the WEC took the 'L'.
With Versus no longer appearing on the satellite tv provider the WEC lost a lot of viewers/fans. And I was one of them.

Like most losses in life, it hurt at first but then you get over it. But now by their own device, the WEC is willing to potentially lose even more fans with a blatant money grab.

Now as they put on their biggest card to date featuring Jose Aldo vs. Urijah Faber and Cowboy Cerrone vs. Smooth Henderson, they stick it to the loyal fan by deeming it a ppv for $44.99.

How is this any different than the NFL making the Super Bowl a ppv?

Hey, I'm a red blooded, all-American capitalist but damn!!!  When is enough, enough UFC/WEC?Zuffa?  At some point it gets ridiculous.  I guess their just probing to see how far the limits can be pushed.

Business 101: In a free market economy keep jacking up the price until the customers stop paying it.

    Hello!
I am astounded that the UFC can charge as much as they do and keep growing. I live in Sweden where we get the events for free on a certain sportschannel. It's probably not live (which doesn't matter due to a 9 hour time-difference) and they have swedish commentators instead of Rogan and Goldie, which is a great shame. But still. How about they charge 20 bucks instead, for both UFC and WEC events? That way I would think that fewer people "have" to download it illegaly, and Zuffa still get money in their pocket...
    Thank you for the blog!
