Congress is going to fix NCAA bowl system? Why not...they're doing such a great job with health care!

Some things just defy reason.

As if with 2 wars, millions of Americans losing their jobs, an economy in turmoil, big banks running amok and foreclosures quickly becoming the American 'nightmare' (I thought home ownership was supposed to be a dream)...Congress is ready to tackle the NCAA football bowl system and how a National Champion is crowned?

I'm embarrassed and ashamed.

We put these legislators in office and allow them to stay.  We sit idly by and watch them waste our time and money arguing over college football while the seas are churning and the ship is taking on water.

Do you know anyone that has lost or is about to lose their home?  Got any friends or relatives that have lost their jobs?  What about your job?  Feel secure? What's the interest rate on your credit card?  How much does your bank charge for an over draft?

Didn't we just loan them billions of dollars to bail their sorry asses out? Now they're paying themselves zillions in bonuses for getting us into this mess?!?

Have you had the pleasure of going to an emergency room lately?  How long did you wait?  Were you pleased with the care that you finally received?  How much was the bill?  Who's going to pay it?  What would have happened if you didn't have adequate health insurance?  And what does that cost you each month?

Congress cannot even agree on intelligently discussing a solution for health care.

And they think that the American people lie awake at night worrying about Boise State and TCU?

Fortunately, I can sleep better tonight knowing that my congressman is on the job.
