Will Mayweather vs. Pacquiao actually happen?
One week after Manny Pacquiao's destruction of Miguel Cotto the sports world is a buzz with talk of Mayweather-Pacquiao. For some inexplicable reason, there are those that think the mega-fight will never take place.
Now, nothing is ever certain in this life except death and taxes but short of divine intervention or criminal charges this fight will happen.
Why am I so sure?
In 25 words or less...Can you count? Who could pass on all that money?
Pacquiao vs. Cotto sold 1.25 million ppv's for some $70 million plus another $8 million and change at the gate (tickets)...and the money is still rolling in. When it's all said and done that fight could gross close to $100 million. The fighters will split up close to $40 million. That's something serious!
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao should easily surpass the $100 mil mark. There will be a lot of BS about how the fighters will split the purse, whose name comes first and who enters the ring last...blah, blah, blah. Give me a break. The split will be 50/50 and cancel all the rest of that noise.
The fight will happen because both Floyd and Manny aren't that kind of crazy and both love the same thing, US legal tender.

Dr. Johnny - I completely disagree that this fight will happen and I will wager a gentleman's bet that we will never seen Mayweather fight Manny. Why? Because Floyd is scared. That's right, I said it, Floyd knows that his record will reflect a loss. He'll blame it on money or something else, but the reality is that he doesn't have an answer for what PacMan brings, the myth that is Floyd will be destroyed. You read it here first, believe it.
