MMA doldrums: I can't wait to see...what?
There are no fights on the MMA horizon that I am counting the days down to see. I wanted to watch Carano v Santos more than I wanted to see Couture v Nogueira. Not that it was a bad fight but it was past its' prime. I would have been a whole lot more interested a few years ago.
UFC 103: Franklin v Belfort...here we go again. I now that 'Ace' has a loyal following and I'm not trying to piss anyone off but damn...
I'd LOVE to see accurate ppv numbers on UFC 102. The gate figures were down and Dana White feels that it was primarily due to the local economy and poor ticket pricing.
He's probably right.
But even though Couture is the hometown hero, Randy hasn't been 'The Man' in quite some time.
In this 'instant age' that we now live in, Randy and some of the other 'legends past their prime' may be losing some of their box office magic.
