UFC 102: Couture vs. Big Nog...afterwards someone may need to retire
Neither of these gentleman have anything left to prove in the world of MMA. Each of their legacies are firmly established.
Randy Couture is a living legend and will always be in the pantheon of MMA immortals.
Big Nog is a fearless warrior that has brought great pride to BBJ.
But at this point in time, both athletes are past their prime.
This fight is of some interest for MMA historians but is far from the most compelling potential bout on the horizon. In the heavyweight arena (not my favorite division), I am far more interested in Lesnar vs. Carwin or Fedor vs. Rogers.
Both of these men are advancing in age and have been through more wars than either may care to or be able to remember.
Depending on the style of this fight, one or both of these valiant warriors may need to begin to seriously consider retirement.
I know that I will once again be vilified for suggesting such heresy but no worries. I've grown use to it.

I think you're absolutely right, Doc... Randy's putting up quite a good showing, but after getting dismantled when he was clipped by Lesnar, and after Big Nog got stopped for the first time in his career (including when facing Fedor), I think there's definitely a good case for these two legends to start thinking about the long-term effects of continuing to compete.
