He's Baaack...Brett Favre is now a Viking

Can't say that I'm surprised.  $25 million and few hobbies will make a man do a lot of things.

Brett Favre is a football player.  He can't yet get that out of his system.  I can't and don't blame him.  If he wants to play and a team is willing to allow him to take a pass on the drudgery of training camp (that was afflicted upon all of his teammates) and pay him that kind of dough; he would have been a fool to walk away.

Would you have walked?  No...I didn't think so.

But there are a few problems: team morale, team chemistry and Brett's durability.

Team Morale.  How would you feel if you were one of the 60 or so other guys who just suffered through training camp and now must learn to live with the 'Favre Rules'?  Everyone knew that #4 was special but DAMN.

Team Chemistry.  What about the other QB's (Jackson and Rosenfels) and their friends on the team?  It's pretty clear what the Vikings organization thinks about them.  And what does it say to every other player on that team not named Favre?

Brett's Durability.  Does anyone truly think that a 40 yo Brett Favre can stay healthy in the NFL for 16 games, plus (hopefully) a playoff run?

Just imagine: Brett goes for 12 or 13 games then goes down to injury.  Now the Vikes must go back to Jackson or Rosenfels, both of whom they publicly humiliated by signing Brett and neither of which have played in months and say "Go gett'em champ!!  You're our guy" !

Can't wait to see how this plays out.
