The UFC in Philly...How sweet it is!!
The UFC will soon realize what I have known since 1991. Philadelphia is a sports crazed town unlike many others...as long as you bring the effort.
Philly is a blue collar, hard scrabble, tough as nails kind of city. Philadelphians work hard for everything that they have and will not allow anyone to take a penny from them without a serious fight. If you bring your lunch box with you every day, many times despite the outcome, Philly will respect the effort.
UFC 101 is coming to Philly with their tool bag loaded. The fight card is stacked with athletes that bring their hard hats. It's scary how many Septra pass toting, hoagie eating fighters are making their way to the octagon at the Wachovia Center August the 8th.
One bit of advice for the fighters...
Respect Philly and leave it in the octagon.
