Why does ESPN and Fox Sports treat MMA like a stepchild?

When MMA drives a live gate and ppv like something that is rarely seen in todays economic times.  When NFL teams are leasing themselves to other venues (ala the Buffalo Bills) and multiple NBA franchises are hemorrhaging cash like a level 1 trauma patient... Why, oh why is there still so little TV coverage by the mainstream media?

ESPN and Fox Sports have so many channels and hours of programming to fill that they devote entire shows to the esoteric.  If there is room for logging sports, billiards and shows about sneakers, might there not be 30 minutes somewhere for the fastest growing sport in the world?

ESPN's MMA Live on the internet is cool but where's the LOVE ?!?
