The death of a good dude, Steve McNair

I didn't know him well but "Man, what a good dude" is about the worst thing that I have ever heard about Steve LaTreal McNair from those that did.  Just ask NFL-ers Ray Lewis, Jevon Kearse or Kenny Holmes...they'll tell you.

Now he's gone... another young man (36 years old) has violently lost his life.  He leaves a wife and 4 sons to now, attempt to make sense of this loss.

I'm sure that in the coming days, all manners of sorted tails will be spun.  They will insinuate or flat out declare that we truly didn't know the real Steve McNair.  Who knows and better yet, who cares after the fact?

What we do know to be factual is: a mother has lost her son, a wife has lost her husband and 4 boys have lost their father.

And the world is less one more "good dude".

May God bless and keep his family.  See you one day in heaven.

Steve Mcnair's death is truly a tragedy. However, my heart goes out to his wife, four sons, and his mom. Mechell Mcnair not only has to grieve the death of her husband, but his infidelity. I feel acrimonious towards his need to disregard his wedding vows. If he would have put the same effort in his marriage as he did in seducing his 20 yr old lover, this would have never happened. His wife and sons would not be experiencing this painful and totally unnecessary grief. Because of his selfish decision to fulfill his own personal needs, his kids will never get the opportunity again to play ball, go to the movie, or just chill with their dad. He robbed them of that. I know Steve's wife is distraught. How do you even begin to grieve the death of someone you love unconditional, and at the same time be faced with the fact that the person who you trusted, supported, and was loyal to, was out in public displaying his love with another woman, who was so selfish that she not only took her own life, but decided to take his as well. Never once pondering the grief and pain it would cause his family. But, this is the type of woman he chose to spend his time with, when he should have been home building a relationship with his family. Proverbs 23:27 states a whore is a deep ditch and a strange woman is a narrow pit. Steve's infidelity does not take away from his generosity or all the great things he has done for other children. I commend him for that. Hopefully he will be remember more for the things he did right than his present scandalous situation. I pray he did make it to heaven, but the bible does state that the wages of sin is death and adultery is still a sin. I just wish he had made the same intelligent decisions in his personal life as he made in his public life. The whole situation itself is just a tragedy. I know I probably sound judge mental, but I know how infidelity can destroy a family and ones view on a person you thought you knew. My prayer is with his family in their time of loss. It really sadden me that a young life has been taken in such a violent manner. Life is so precious and sometimes very short. Therefore, we should live every day as if it was our last.
