The return of Kimbo Slice
Kevin Ferguson aka Kimbo Slice apparently has re-surfaced. He has been reported as making the cast for the upcoming taping of the UFC reality series, The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV.
I have never been a fan of the buffoonery exhibited and encouraged on many reality shows (TUF in particular)...BUT with the inclusion of Kimbo this has the potential to be quite interesting.
Granted, Mr. Slice is a lightning rod for controversy and rabid opinions abound. But as I've said before and will say here again- Kevin Ferguson was always humble about his skill level and place in MMA hierarchy. Now the Shaws both Gary and his 'too sexy for my tight shirt' son Jared...not so much. They created the circus freak show. The Shaws made it a farce. They should be held responsible not Kevin Ferguson.
TUF will either reign in the stupidity and give the MMA faithful a chance to judge Kimbo Slice on his own merit by providing a glimpse of his work ethic, commitment and attitude. TUF can also be a platform for Kevin Ferguson to redeem himself.
Or TUF can stay true to form, let it all hang out and go for the ratings by making a mockery of Kimbo and in turn MMA.
Potential can be a heavy burden (for both TUF and Kimbo)...we shall see.
