Open note to Brett Favre...let it go

Is Brett Favre the greatest quarterback ever? Could be. Is he a definite first ballot Hall of Famer? No doubt. Is he likely to return to the NFL and have a productive season? Not likely.
Brett apparently has a partially torn biceps tendon in his throwing shoulder that is giving him pain. He cites that as the reason for his passing woes at the end of his stint with the NY Jets. I believe that.
He also states, that earlier in his career he had a similar problem in his non-throwing shoulder and once the tendon tore completely his pain subsided. Therefore, he has gone to see Dr. Andrews to explore his options which are basically three:
1. Have major shoulder surgery.
2. Have arthroscopic shoulder surgery.
3. Try to finish tearing the tendon with exercise.
Brett has ruled out major shoulder surgery. His best chance to play again is going with the scope but he apparently doesn't want to do the 3-6 weeks of post-op rehab that would be required. Therefore, it looks like he will try to complete the biceps tendon tear with exercise.
This approach is rather interesting to me. If he will do exercises to tear the tendon why won't he do exercises to rehab after a shoulder scope? And if he is successful tearing the tendon...guess what's next? You got it...3-6 weeks of rehab.
I've got a fourth option for Mr. Favre...go fishing.
