Roy Jones, Jr. wants to fight Anderson Silva in MMA? That's a joke ...right?
When I read that the pound for pound king Anderson Silva wanted to box Roy Jones, Jr., I had to read it twice. Box Roy Jones, Jr. He must be insane.
Granted. Roy is not what he used to be. BUT it's Roy that he's talking about...not some young kid that's still wet behind the ears. Roy will hurt Anderson...bad.
Then it was Nick Diaz calling out RJ. Similar result but far worse.
Now I've read something even more bizarre. Supposedly, Roy wants to fight Anderson Silva or Nick Diaz in MMA. Yep MMA. I write supposedly because I truly can't believe that Roy would wish such a thing upon himself and value his health so little.
Roy Jones competing in MMA against Anderson Silva (in his prime no less) is criminal. Roy would not last 60 seconds. And the only thing that would spare his health is the ability to tap.
Any MMA organization that would promote such a spectacle should be ashamed of themselves And any State Athletic Commission that would sign off on that disgrace needs to be disbanded.
MMA is on track to soon become a mainstream sport similar to the NFL, MLB or NBA. Most of the heavy lifting has been done. Why undermine years of hard work and make a circus freak show out of it now?
