Boxing's Don King showing an interest in MMA
Only in America could the mere rumor of Don King getting involved, as a 'consultant', to an organization interested in promoting MMA events and reality shows create such a buzz.
Supposedly, some Wall Street money guys are jumping on the MMA bandwagon and to see if they can turn a quick buck. Naturally, since they have no background or expertise in combat sports or promotions they reached out to an expert with 30 years in the fight game. Voilà...Don King.
Message boards, chat rooms and forums all over the MMA universe immediately went into hyper-drive. It appears (by my unofficial, down and dirty poll of respondents' comments) that the overwhelming sentiment is ...can we say, negative...very negative.
