The WEC is ready for network TV...sorry Versus

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  From a fan's perspective, the WEC is the best fighting organization on the planet.  They have the most exciting and most consistent cards in combat sports (UFC, HBO and Showtime included).

Match making    A
Overall Talent    B+
Production         B+
Star appeal        A
Consistency       A
Action               A
Live fans           D
Value                A+

Head to head, if I had to choose between a free (no additional cost to cable fee) WEC card or most UFC ppv's (I'd pay damn near anything for GSP vs. Penn)...it's a no brainer.  The WEC provides so much value, it is hard to believe that the owners will continue to not charge a ppv fee for much longer.

Greed has a way of spoiling most things.  Even something as near perfect as the WEC.

* I am aware that UFC/Zuffa owns the WEC

I totally agree doc. Almost every WEC-event this last year has been nothing but incredible. And i think the scrapping of higher weightclasses is going to bring an even brighter future for the WEC.

But apprently Zuffa is looking into signing Kid Yamamoto for a Faber vs Kid-superfight. I don't see that beeing for just raising the Versus-ratings. WEC on ppv is not far ahead i'm afraid.
